"Power rationing" has seriously affected the normal production of ceramic companies. Since July this year, many ceramic production areas across the country have issued "power rationing orders" and adopted methods such as peak-shifting production, quota allocation, or industrial enterprises to stop production and limit production to alleviate power shortages.
Recently, according to incomplete statistics from "Ceramic Information", more than 200 ceramic production lines have been suspended in 19 provinces and cities, and power rationing is one of the main factors leading to production shutdowns (for details, see: skyrocketing costs, unavailable products, power rationing... Nanning Wuming District August 4th-31st
Temporarily suspend the production and use of electricity by ceramic enterprises
On August 4, the Office of the Orderly Power Use Leading Group of Wuming District, Nanning, Guangxi issued the "Notice on Temporarily Suspending the Production and Use of Electricity by Ceramic Enterprises."
The "Notice" shows that since May 2021, the temperature has continued to rise, residents' electricity consumption has increased, coal prices have increased, thermal power plants have reduced power generation, low rainfall and serious shortage of hydropower and other factors, in order to achieve orderly Electricity work requirements, involving high energy-consuming building materials companies, cement, chemicals, aluminum alloys, steel and other companies are included in the peak staggering range.
After research and judgment by the orderly electricity use leading group of Wuming District, Nanning, it has been decided to temporarily stop the production and use of electricity by ceramic enterprises from now until August 31. Each ceramic enterprise must arrange employee placement and mechanical equipment in accordance with relevant work requirements. After the power load is relieved, the company will be notified to resume work and production.
This means that the production lines of ceramic enterprises in Wuming District, Nanning, Guangxi must suspend production from August 4 to August 31, for a total of 28 days.
According to the survey data from the "Long March of the Ceramic Industry - China Building Ceramics Geographical Survey 2020 China Ceramic Tile Production Capacity Report", there are 10 ceramic tile manufacturers and 14 production lines in Wuming District, Nanning City. The product types include porcelain tiles and antique tiles. , glazed tiles are the main products, and most ceramic companies only have one production line. The sudden suspension of production will have a greater impact on local businesses.
Some local industry insiders said: "The local ceramic enterprises in Wuming mainly make porcelain tiles. The single-line production capacity is not large, and the market space for porcelain tiles itself is getting smaller and smaller. In addition, the price of coal has skyrocketed this year, and the price of raw materials has The situation remains high, and now there are power cuts, which many companies cannot bear, so they have no choice but to suspend production. Coupled with the large-scale development of the ceramic industry in the surrounding production areas of Wuming, the advantages are even more obvious, and the survival pressure of ceramic enterprises in the Wuming production area is increasing. Bigger.”
In addition, the placement of ceramic factory workers and equipment maintenance after the shutdown is also a headache. For the production of ceramic enterprises, "continuity" and "stability" must be maintained. The continuous start and stop of the kiln will have a certain impact on production and later maintenance of the equipment.
More than ten provinces have initiated power outage plans
The production of ceramic enterprises in many production areas is affected
Not only Wu Ming, but according to "Ceramic Information", ceramic enterprises in many provinces such as Guangdong, Guangxi, and Yunnan have been greatly affected by insufficient power supply this year.
Since May, the demand for electricity in Guangdong Province has continued to rise. In major ceramic production areas such as Foshan, Qingyuan, and Zhaoqing, many ceramic production companies and upstream supporting companies have received notices and began to implement "peak-shifting electricity consumption" ( For details, see: Price increases have just come, and power rationing is coming again! Ceramics and supporting companies in many places in Guangdong implemented peak-shifting power consumption). ☜Click to view details
In Guangxi, 18 production lines have been suspended in Teng County, mainly due to power cuts. The production suspension time is: 9 production lines were stopped in early July, and another 9 production lines were stopped on the evening of July 14 due to power cuts. Industry insiders in Guiping, Guangxi also revealed: "Starting from the end of July, the Guiping Ceramics Factory was directly required to have a power outage for more than ten days, resulting in the suspension of production of more than a dozen local kilns."
According to data from the State Grid, the country’s electricity load and average daily power generation in July exceeded the peak last summer! In the first half of 2021, industrial electricity consumption increased by 16.5% year-on-year, and the electricity consumption growth rate in 15 provinces and cities exceeded 17%. Among them, the growth rate in 7 provinces and regions including Jiangsu, Guangdong, Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Yunnan, Hubei, and Tibet exceeded 20%.
The power load is too high, coupled with the impact of disasters such as typhoons and floods, there have been varying degrees of mitigation measures in the country recently such as reducing electricity consumption, power outages for maintenance, and raising electricity prices.
According to public information, 15 provinces across the country, including Inner Mongolia, Zhejiang, Anhui, Henan, Jiangxi, Jiangsu, Yunnan, Guangdong, Guangxi, and Xinjiang, have initiated power outage and rationing plans. In addition to the above-mentioned areas, there are also irregular power outages in many areas.
In major construction provinces, Henan, in order to ensure the supply of coal and electricity, requires all coal mines in the province to produce thermal coal and not sell it to other places; in order to ensure residents' daily use of electricity, some enterprises and industrial users in the province have stopped production and strictly abide by the use of electricity. Electric order. Jiangxi will trial the "benchmark upper limit price + floating mechanism" for electricity time-sharing trading from July to December 2021.
Since May, many places in Guangdong have issued peak-shifting holiday notices, requiring all production and use of electricity to be stopped at specific times. Enterprises in Wuzhou, Yulin and other places in Guangxi received notices that power cuts are expected to last for 2Month (July-September), the electricity load will be reduced by 30%, and many companies are facing production cuts.
Since July 15, some industrial enterprises in Yunnan have implemented peak-shifting production. They can only operate normally or at low load at night. The normal production of some ceramic enterprises has been affected to a certain extent.
